Wei Zhang, PhD

Dr. Wei Zhang has 23 years of experience in life sciences business development, investment, and R&D.
Prior to joining Heranova Lifesciences as Chief Business Officer, Dr. Zhang was an investor and advisor for life sciences companies in the US and Asia. Previously, he was President and CEO of an early-stage biotech company with operations in the US and China and led corporate development at Good Start Genetics, a commercial stage genetic testing company in Boston. Dr. Zhang was a key member of the healthcare investment team at Safeguard Scientifics.
Prior to business school, Dr. Zhang worked as a scientist with increased responsibilities in the biotech industry. He started his scientific career at Eli Lilly’s Sphinx division, and then at Genetics Institute (now Pfizer) and ImmunoGen. He has contributed to the development of over a dozen commercial and clinical stage biologics for cancer, autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Zhang obtained his MBA from Wharton, PhD in chemistry from Boston University.
